VISUAL THEOLOGY

The tiny hamlet of Toller Fratrum in Dorset, England, seems to be mostly known for this baptismal font. The font is much older than the church where it now resides, but opinions differ as to how much older. I have seen dates from 12th century to "early Saxon." There is also a wide difference of opinion as to what the carved scenes represent. This is thought to be an Old Testament scene, perhaps Moses leading his people from bondage, or leading them into battle ■
